Jéaninne Walker- head pastor
Pastor Jéaninne is a native of Cincinnati.
She grew up attending and joining York Street United Methodist Church at a young age. The church has always been a strong part of her life. After graduating from Walnut Hills High School, she attended one of the Historically Black Colleges related to the United Methodist Church, Bennett College in Greensboro, NC. There she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration.
She came back to Cincinnati after college and worked in a variety of settings before going to seminary, including the United Methodist Women’s Service Center which used to be on Reading Road. Pastor Jéaninne became a student at United Theological Seminary (UTS) in Dayton, Ohio because she felt God calling her to make a “full-time” commitment to the Ordained Ministry. She graduated from UTS with a Masters in Divinity, was ordained a deacon and two years later an Elder and became a Full Member of the West Ohio Conference.
She has served in various districts within the Conference. Pastor Jéaninne has worked in all areas of the church, especially with children, youth, United Methodist Women, Dean and Assistant Dean of Mission U, issues relating to the history of African Americans in the United Methodist Church and cultural awareness.
She has one daughter and one granddaughter.
DENNIS BETZ- artist director
Dennis strongly believe that the arts has the power to change lives socially, culturally and spiritually. He has guided his students down this path while nurturing their passion and developing their skills for music. In addition to serving as Artistic Director/Music Director at the church, he also serves as Music Director, Accompanist and arranger with the Cincinnati Choral Academy, Choral Director of the Anthology Angels, Music Director for regional community theater, and continues to teach vocal and instrumental music privately with over thirty years of experience.
