Church-wide Lenten Study
Are you intentionally developing your faith? One way we do this is by learning and growing together in community. That means attending faith-based classes. Here at MWUMC, about a handful of you attend Sunday School, about a handful of you attend Mondays on Morrow and about a dozen on average attend the Pastor’s Bible Study. The attendees at these three classes are often the same people. From a church that averages one hundred in worship each week, we have about 15 percent of you who are intentionally developing your faith in community. We need to do better.
Therefore we will offer a six-week, small group devotional study, “Forty Days of Fruitful Living,” by Bishop Robert Schnase. This study will help each one of you cultivate the essential practices of a life lived in grace. You will learn about receiving God’s love, loving God in return, growing in Christ, serving others, and giving back to God and others.
We are going to invite and encourage everyone in this church to participate in a small group. We will invite several of you to host/facilitate a small group, here at church, at your home, or at some other site. We will invite all of you to sign up for and participate in one of these groups. Details will be forthcoming. Our goal is to have everyone in this church have an opportunity to learn and grow in your spiritual lives, immersed in God’s transforming grace, so that we all practice fruitful living for Jesus Christ.
